planetnewmedia has developed and launched a major new European trade site initiative with MTV Europe.

The initial brief from MTV was for a European business-to-business site capturing the creative edginess of MTV and providing instant and continuously updated information for their clients in an easy to access, easy to use environment; providing both enjoyment and incentive to return to the site.

MTV wanted a site that they could be in control of, that they could update in-house. The site had to be available to its multicultural European market, without depending on the use of language variants of the site. It had to be able to capture data and also be database driven, allowing a two way interaction process.

The two companies have been working intensely over the last few years on a number of projects including the original European site. Using "Form through Function" as its backbone, the site really succeeds in reflecting the MTV identity in a very contemporary style that works across international borders. The creativeness of the site does not interfere with the delivery of information, it enhances it. The site is fun to use, easy to navigate through and continuously refreshed in-house with current data.

Created in Flash, the site is a fluid experience. In addition to the registration and mailshot features, quirky downloadable games and screensavers, planetnewmedia has programmed the site to allow it to be continuously updated "on the fly" by MTV, requiring the minimum of web design skills.
